Bolivian President Evo Morales Receives a Palestinian Delegation Headed by Dr. Jihad Khalil Al Wazir

La Paz, 03/04/2013 - the Bolivian president Evo Morales met with the  Palestine Monetary Authority Governor, Dr. Jihad Al-Wazir and the accompanying Palestinian delegation in the republican palace, La Paz. Dr. Al-Wazir handed an official letter and conveyed greetings from Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas to President Morales, who always expresses support to the Palestinian people's resistance. Dr. Al-Wazir also presented a mother-of-pearl handicraft from President Abbas, as a gesture of appreciation to the brave stance of the Bolivian President, last of which was the recognition to the State of Palestine. The Bolivian President extended greetings to the Palestinian President and appreciation to the people of Palestine, and he stated: 'Mr. President Abbas has always been a struggler. Palestine to me and my country is an existing full member state, and the current situation does not devalue it at all'.

The two parties discussed the potentials of cooperation between Palestine and Bolivia; as part of the 'South-to-South' cooperation program, which targets fields of tourism, agriculture and financial and banking services. Dr. Al-Wazir has been accompanied by Mr. Ibrahim el-Zaban, the Palestinian Ambassador of Brazil, Mr. Ali Faroun,  Director of the Consumer Relations and Market Conduct Department, as well as Mr. Hashim Shawa. Chairman and CEO of  Bank of Palestine and Mr. Omar Al-Masri, Vice Chairman of the National Bank.
